Are you GETing the most from your CVT?

A simple trick I learned long ago that is super simple but can tell you A LOT about your CVT.

GET, GY6, anything with a CVT
-Remove your drive face
-Take a Sharpie and color a nice fat line on the belt side
-Install drive face
-Go cruising untill you feel you have maxed out your CVT (top speed)
-Remove drive face and see how much marker is still visible.

The higher up is worn off the more of your Variator you used. The higher up you GET the more speed you GET.

What is the highest it should go? no matter what combo of weights I use I cant seem to make it up that high.

What belt are you using? The Gates belts are shorter than most, and even if it’s completely bottomed out on the clutch end, they’re not long enough to max out on the drive face. I’ve tried a bunch of belt brands, and I like the Kitaco. Especially if you’re running an aftermarket variator and drive face with a larger diameter.

I have the stock belt right now only have about 500 miles on her right now.

Cool trick.

What is the solution if it doesn’t go as high as it should? Lighter weights?

What sights are you running cerently? I would say go up but I don’t know what wight you have to make that commit.

When I commented that I was getting like 7500pm at WOT flat ground but now I’ve done airbox delete, new exhaust, and new jets obv and its more like 8100. i have 5.5g weights
